White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Medicinal Cannabis Program was established following a successful referendum vote by Band members. Authorized by the Reservation Business Committee (RBC), the program allows for the cultivation, dispensing, and medical use of cannabis within the White Earth Reservation. The White Earth Medicinal Cannabis Code was carefully developed and made available for public comment before being adopted by the RBC.

The White Earth Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Adult-Use Cannabis Program was authorized by the RBC, the program allows for the cultivation, dispensing, and Adult-Use of cannabis within the White Earth Reservation.

To ensure effective regulation and implementation, the independent Medicinal Cannabis Control Commission was established. The Commission, consisting of five members appointed by the RBC, oversees compliance with these Codes and Regulations, serves as the licensing authority, and upholds the mission of the White Earth Band Ojibwe Nation to enhance the quality of life for its members.
